I completely agree. There’s more to life than work. It’s fine to go all-out for short periods of time and cheat sleep, exercise, family time, and the other important things in life. We should not, though, routinely subjugate our lives for work. Period.

At the same time, though, I don’t demonize companies. No one is conscripted to work in a high-stress environment. We all have choice — and that includes leaving an admired company to do something else.
